What is BroadBand Neighbourhood?

The BroadBand Neighbourhood is a series of models and outputs based on the 1.7 million UK postcodes. Developed over the last two years by Point Topic to help ISPs, regulators, operators, government/local government and equipment manufacturers understand the geography of the UK broadband market.

The database is built using inputs from multiple sources including government statistics, census data, regulator outputs and Point Topic’s own primary research driven by a unique series of surveys.

The BroadBand Neighbourhood database (now on Version 7.0) enables several sets of outputs, including:

  • Broadband density of a particular geography
  • Broadband take-up
  • Exchange area and estimates on local loop lengths
  • TV service availability
  • Broadband technologies available
  • Basic demographic information on the geography
  • Unbundling information (who, when etc.)

All available in MS Access or as a CSV file.
